Installation

Place the CatGenie A.I. in the bathroom, utility room or utility cupboard – depending on your living situation. You can find more information in the guide to getting your cat used to the system.

Connect the T-piece (included) to the cold water supply of the toilet, washbasin or washing machine.
Screw on the hose.
Hang the drain hose over the toilet rim or into the floor drain.
Plug in the unit – done.

How cleaning works (3-phase system)

As soon as your cat leaves the tray, a motion sensor (“GenieEyes”) detects this and – depending on the settings – starts the fully automatic 3-phase cycle:

Scooping & liquefying: The “GenieHand” sifts solid waste from the washable granules. These are liquefied within the unit and safely disposed of via the drain.
Washing & Disinfecting: The granules and the bowl are thoroughly washed, scrubbed and disinfected with cold water and the vet-approved SaniSolution. Germs and odours are eliminated.
Drying: A warm-air blower dries the granules and the bowl completely, so that the litter tray is fresh and dry and ready for immediate use.

Three ways to activate the CatGenie Whoosh

You have full control over how and when cleaning takes place:

Cat Activation (Automatic): The sensors start the cleaning cycle 5 or 30 minutes after the cat leaves the litter tray. In this mode, the unit is particularly efficient and doubles the SaniSolution’s yield to up to 240 cycles.
Time-based activation: Schedule up to 8 fixed cleaning times per day via the app – ideal for a regular routine.
Manual activation: Start the process at any time at the touch of a button on the unit or via remote control using the app.

Accessories & consumables

Cartridges: SaniSolution (fresh scent or neutral). One refill is sufficient for up to 120 (standard) or 240 (cat mode) cleaning cycles.

The CatGenie app proactively alerts you to upcoming maintenance or low SaniSolution levels. The system uses washable granules that remain in the unit permanently and only need to be topped up to account for natural loss (due to paw adhesion).

To ensure smooth operation, we recommend running a special maintenance wash cycle every 3–6 months using the CatGenie Maintenance Pack to remove limescale deposits. The smooth plastic surfaces of the GenieDome can simply be wiped down with a damp cloth as needed.
