Activation

The CatGenie has a motion sensor that detects when your cat is using the CatGenie litter tray. As soon as your cat has finished and leaves the tray, the CatGenie automatically starts a three-stage cleaning cycle:

  1. Solid waste is scooped up using the Genie Hand, then liquefied and flushed away.
  2. The CatGenie washes the litter with a mixture of cold water and SaniSolution (with a fresh scent or unscented). During this cycle, the CatGenie disinfects, scrubs and cleans the tray and the litter.
  3. Finally, the CatGenie dries the tray and the litter with warm air.

Your cat will always find its litter tray fresh and clean!

Three CatGenie activation options

Cat Activation

The CatGenie is equipped with built-in sensors (‘Genie Eyes’) that detect when your cat uses the litter tray. A cleaning cycle starts automatically 10 or 30 minutes after the cat has left the litter tray.

Automatic Start

With “Automatic Start”, you can pre-programme up to four cleaning cycles per day.

Manual Activation

You can start a cleaning cycle manually at any time. To do so, simply press the START button on the CatGenie unit.

Cat Activation

The cleaning cycle begins ten minutes after the cat has used the tray. If another cat starts using the tray in the meantime, the unit resets and the cycle starts ten minutes later. The unit cannot start if a cat is in the tray – the optical “Genie Eyes” sensors ensure this.

When the tray is activated by the cat, the CatGenie automatically switches the dosage from 120 to 240. As cleaning takes place immediately after use in this case, a smaller amount of sanitiser is required per cycle.

The “Cat Activation” setting uses two modes: 14-hour standby mode and 10-hour sleep mode.

  • Standby mode: The unit cleans after use.
  • Sleep mode: No automatic cleaning starts; you can trigger cleaning using the start button or wait for the next standby mode.

Automatic Start

Cleaning of the CatGenie litter tray starts automatically four times within 24 hours. Once set up, cleaning begins at the same time each day.

Automatic Start uses a timer, so you must select the exact times. Example: If you wish to select 2.00 pm and 2.00 am as start times, the automatic start must be set to either 2.00 pm or 2.00 am. When setting this, pay attention to the schedule (display on the left) and observe when your cats usually use the tray so that you can optimally adapt the cleaning times to their needs.

How often should cleaning be carried out with the automatic start function?

  • One cat: clean twice a day
  • Two cats: clean four times a day
  • Three cats: clean six times a day

Note: If a cat uses the litter tray during a preset cleaning time, the device resets itself and the cycle starts ten minutes later.
